What data is collected?

Smart Tab Audio Recorder ("the extension") does not collect any data. No personal information, no browsing history, no audio fingerprint, no analytics — nothing.

What does the extension do?

The extension records the audible audio of your currently active browser tab using Chrome's tabCapture API, after you explicitly click the Start Recording button. The audio is encoded to MP3 (or WebM as fallback) and stored locally in your browser via IndexedDB.

Where does the recorded audio go?

The recorded audio never leaves your device. It is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB until you manually download it (one-by-one or as a ZIP) or clear the library. No cloud upload, no server, no third party.

What is stored in chrome.storage.local?

• Your preferences (split-on-silence on/off, UI mode preference).
• The current recording status during a session.

No URL, no tab title, no page content is stored.

Network calls

The extension makes zero outbound network calls. No telemetry, no update ping, no analytics.

Cookies, trackers, analytics

None.

Sharing or selling data

We have nothing to share or sell. No data is collected from you.

Your rights

• Uninstall the extension: all local data and recordings are erased.
• Clear all recordings from the in-extension library button.
• Reset preferences from the Options page.
